The Foundational Secrets

The Foundational Secrets

Imagine reading a book with pages torn out. You follow the story as best you can, but something feels off. Characters appear suddenly. Events happen without explanation. You sense there is more, but you cannot reach it. For many believers, this is exactly what reading the Garden of Eden story feels like they just do not know why.

The truth is, the Bible we hold today does not include every ancient text that early believers read and treasured. There are books mentioned in scripture that we no longer have. There are writings preserved by Jewish and Christian communities that contain details about the stories we thought we knew. These are often called the Apocrypha, and they hold secrets that fill the gaps in our understanding.

One of the most powerful examples is Eve’s temptation in the Garden. The Genesis account gives us a conversation between the serpent and Eve. But it does not explain how the serpent gained access to her. It does not reveal where protection was when the enemy approached. For this, we must turn to ancient texts like the lives of Adam and Eve.

These apocryphal writings preserves a detail that changes everything. In Chapter XXXIII, Adam speaks and reveals something startling: “Moreover God the Lord gave us two angels to guard us. The hour came when the angels had ascended to worship in the sight of God; forthwith the adversary (the devil) found an opportunity while the angels were absent, and the devil led your mother astray to eat of the unlawful and forbidden tree. And she did eat and gave to me.”

Read that again slowly. Two angels were assigned to guard Adam and Eve. But those angels had to ascend to worship God. In their absence, the enemy struck. This means Eve was not simply left unprotected she was left unprotected because worship took priority. The angels were doing exactly what they were created to do when the attack came.

This detail, preserved in the hidden books of the Bible, raises profound questions. If angels were guarding the garden, why did God allow a gap in their coverage? If worship leaves space for attack, what does that mean for us? These are not questions that undermine faith, they are questions that deepen it.

The lost books of the Bible have been ignored by many churches for centuries. Some were excluded when the canon was formed. Others were simply forgotten. But within them lie treasures that help us understand scripture more fully. The Angels in the Apocrypha are not mythical creatures they are active participants in the drama of redemption.

At Nopa Foundation, we do not elevate these texts above scripture. We read them alongside scripture, allowing them to fill in historical and narrative gaps. We believe God preserved these writings for a reason. They are not replacements for the Bible. They are companions to it.

When you understand that angels were present, that their absence created opportunity, and that God allowed this sequence to unfold, the Garden story transforms. You stop asking “Why did God let Eve be tempted?” and start asking “What does it mean that God allowed this gap, and how does His apology afterward reveal His heart?”

The secrets are waiting. Are you ready to discover them?
